THE ROOF STRUCTURE OF THE CHURCH
The main building (A), which serves as a church, has an area of approximately 32 x 21 m and a total height of 28 m. The lower 4 m base structure is from reinforced concrete walls and it is covered by a 24 m high glulam wooden roof. The upper (skylight) structure is about 11 m high and weighs 8.000 kg, which also has a chandelier-structure weighing 1.200 kg. The wooden beams are covered with paneling and above with the roof layers (25 cm rock wool, ventilated layers, slate roof tiles). The biggest challenge was the design of wind loads. The program was a great help in designing of complex loads, in optimizing the structure.

THE WINGED TOWERS
The base of the two winged towers (B) is 5.8 x 5.8 m, its walls are made of reinforced concrete up to the 26 m level and it is closed with a 14 m high wooden structure. Thus, the total height of the towers is 40 m. The challenge was to design the wings which are made of steel structure, whose maximum height reaches 16 m with 4 m in cantilever.

THE CONCERT HALL (D)

The building complex also includes a chamber music hall (D). The cylindrical basement (underground floor) is made entirely of reinforced concrete. The ground floor consists of reinforced concrete columns and beams infilled with brick walls. The roof structure has an internal visible, regular, dome-shaped layer and an external veil-like layer, with both structures made of glulam beams covered by thermal and sound-insulating layers.

„ I have been using this software for 20 years, since the beginning. AxisVM is a constantly developing and continuously improved user friendly application. Its great advantage compared to its competitors is that it allows using national design codes and annexes (in my case the Romanian one). Design modules are great, detailed calculation reports are very useful. The support from the developers is excellent. I highly recommend this software to civil engineers. ”
